Artie did amazing work in my basement. It was quite a job. They dug out stone to drop the floor about a foot; they took out old, cracked wooden beams and replaced them with steel beams; they did the masonry work to reconstruct concrete encased windows; and they removed two 500-gallon oil tanks. The men would arrive promptly at 8 and leave 6, and keep steadily busy all day. Through it all, the men took care that we could live comfortably at home. Now I have a beautifully finished basement — fine enough to be a one-bedroom apartment.

Artie handled a major renovation in my 80-year-old house, including my basement (tiled the floors and installed Sheetrock walls), four bathrooms (demolished down to the bare studs and built back out), and five bedrooms (webbing, re-did all the trim molding and all the doors, and painted). Artie's guys arrived promptly each morning, cleaned thoroughly each evening, and were always a pleasure to have in the house. Also, Artie's billing is very transparent. I knew exactly how many hours each guy was there, how much he got paid, and what each supplier charged. I've had a fair number of people do work in my house before I knew Artie, and Artie is the best of them all.

In reviewing my architect's plans for an extension of my 75-year old Tudor, Artie's foreman made some key suggestions that were incorporated into the final plans and approved by the City. One suggestion was structural — adding steelwork to support the addition. Another was cosmetic — changing the placement of the decorative fascia boards used on the addition to be more in harmony with the rest of the house. I am delighted with the result.
